Miami Alums Turf Up the CaneTrain

Miami Hurricanes CaneTrain Tailgate VanAlumni of the University of the Miami have choosen to express their passion for the “U” in their own unique way.

The enthusiastic bunch united to create what they call ”The ultimate tailgating experience,” also known as The CaneTrain. The CaneTrain is an idea that came about when a few of its members sat back over some pitchers while tailgating before a UM basketball game at the Bank United Center, Miami's on-campus basketball arena.

The idea was to purchase a van, gut it, and let imagination take its course. The result was a UM tailgating vehicle like no other. Although, the original plan to replicate Miami's home field fell short, the van was completely covered in astroturf with a giant “U” to boot. The inside is entirely upholstered with UM fabric, and accented with green, orange, and white trim. In order to seat the twelve members, bench-style seating was added to both sides of the cargo area after removing the factory seats. The van has a modified kegerator system adapted to the back door that serves adult beverages on those warm South Florida Saturday mornings. In addition to all this, this tailgate machine carries two giant flags soaring over 10 feet in the air. In case you didn't how passionate Miami fans are about their football, the top of the CaneTrain is protected by by a fully striped UM helmet.

This van is truly a one of a kind and a must see when attending a University of Miami Football or Basketball game.
