Looking to Buy a Tailgate Bus?

For those of you looking to set up your own tailgate rig, check out this 1979 35’ Wanderlodge by Bluebird currently located in Ohio. The owner, Terri Church, has informed us that he has just put it up for sale, and is asking $9,000. The interior of the bus is almost completed with beautiful maple/oak floor. This potential tailgating machine has ivory couches that fold down into beds, which is great for those 2 to 3 day road game trips.

Below are some of its other features:

  • 3208 Caterpillar Engine
  • 4 Speed, Allison Automatic
  • 7.25kw Kohler Generator
  • 2 13.5 Roof ACs

Meet BOBBY the Bus, Y'all

OSU Cowboys - Bobby the BusDon’t you just love when things work out in an almost perfect fashion? The owners of “BOBBY the Bus” sure do. You see, after a night game, the group was sitting around on ice chests and folding chair talking about how they could step up their tailgating efforts. The group, which is comprised of three families, continued talking when a school bus, painted purple and green with a deck on the roof, drove right by them. Eureka! The very next day there was an ad in the paper stating that the Oklahoma City School District was having an auction with buses being included on the auction block. Some things are just meant to be. The bus was purchased for $700 six days later.

Removable Tailgate System

Removable Tailgate SystemEvery professional tailgater will tell you the same thing when you ask them what they don't like about tailgating: 1.) getting stuck putting everything away 5 minutes before game time, and 2.) getting stuck putting everything away 5 minutes before your wife tans your hide for staying at the post-game tailgate. There is hope, my fellow tailgaters. Imagi-Motive has invented a product that will not only help you avoid the dreadful "break-down," but also maximize your tailgating efficiency.

Jay the Tailgate Guy on TV in San Diego

A nice piece on Jay the Tailgate Guy (who will be touring with BPONG.com) by a San Diego News Station. Something I noticed in the video was that Jay was wearing The Grill Slinger, which we are fans of over here at TailgateLot.com.

Guide to Buying & Building a Tailgate Rig

Gators Tailgate BusAlthough the thought of buying and building a tailgate vehicle may seem absurd to some (Although, I'm not sure who!), it can seem like a worthwhile expense in the quest for the world's greatest tailgate party. However, shopping for a vehicle that will strictly be used to tailgate before games is a bit different from buying your standard Honda Civic. Below are a couple points to consider when shopping and planning for the mega-beast of tailgating:

1. Plan out everything you want in a Tailgating Machine First.

Some people want a big outdoor deck while others want the most indoor space as possible. Some groups like roof racks while others are not so fond. Some groups want to sleep in the vehicle on roadtrips while others prefer not to take it on road trips at all. All of these minor decisions need to be discussed before making the leap of actually buying a vehicle. Make sure that the vehicle your buying to modify can accommodate for all of your group's tailgating needs.

Tailgating Innovations: Ultimate Tailgate Experience

With the first real college football games set to kick off in about 56 days, you have to start thinking about your tailgate setup. Most folks will go out, and buy some tailgate gear from local outdoors stores or The Home Depot. Others will just go out, and spend about $15,000 on pure tailgating goodness such as this fully equipped trailer.

Ravens Tailgate Sprinter by CMI

Once again, our friends over at Creative Mobile Interiors (CMI) have done it again! They have converted a stock 2006 Sprinter into a Baltimore Ravens Fan’s ultimate tailgating machine.

The heart and soul of this tailgater is the entertainment center in the back, which includes a 42" Philips flat screen TV, 3000-watt sound system, DVD player, 12" sub woofer, and strobe lights. There is no need to ever go inside because this entertainment center has two custom built in coolers, and A/C outlets!

Inside, you’ll find upgraded cabinets storage, and four leather captains’ chairs with purple piping that swivel 360 degrees. Other amenities include refrigerator for all your tailgating goodies, and more importantly, this Ravens tailgating machine is equipped with its own bathroom…no "port-a-potties" for this group.

TailgateLot.com's First APB Officially Posted

So here it is, TailgateLot.com has officially put out its first "All Points Bulletin (APB)" for this absolutely monstrous tailgate machine. Watch the video, and right after about 10 seconds you will catch a glimpse of what looks likes the Holy Grail of electronically equipped tailgate vehicles. It would be a crime if we do not feature this truck on our website. Iowa State Fans, you of course, can help us the most when it comes to capturing this wicked, and probably mythical machine. However, we do have to say the best part of this video comes at about 22 seconds. The guy shooting the film, in an attempt at being as inconspicuous of possible, pulls a move from the 1930's, and whistles to make himself blend in with the crowd. Classic!

Leave a comment if you know the whereabouts of this ISU tailgating powerhouse.
